PATIE – IJE OMA

Those of us who are mourning Patie should consoled by the words of Winston Churchil who said and I quote, “I look at life as a gift of God. Now that He wants it back, I have no right to complain”.
Since Patie left us for the great beyond, those of us who loved her dearly have been grieving inconsolably.  Let us take heart in these words of Winston Churchill and pray for her soul. Amen

TRIBUTE TO MY BELOVED AUNTY PESH!

“Aunty Pesh”, as I fondly called you, I was not surprised when I received the news of your death through your son Chike. I worship the living God for taking you for a well-deserved rest because you had battled illness for 3 years.
Your Golden Voice will forever remain fresh for it was Angelic. What about the aroma from your kitchen? No visitor left your house without being served even in odd times. Your giving was extra-ordinary.
Autny Pesh, your service in His vineyard especially during the period of the Very Revd. Isaiah, our Late Provost and his wife, Mrs. Grace Agbaim where you served as PCC member and Secretary Cathedral women for many years, leader of first old group 3 women of All Saints Cathedral where your group took first position for almost a decade cannot be forgotten. You were the first Editor-in-chief of All Saints Cathedral Women Crown Magazine.
At the Diocesan level, after the death of Late Mrs. Chinwuzie, you became the secretary of women ministry. You were one of the core executive of Late Mrs. Beatrice Onyemelukwe, ‘Nnedioramma’ , the wife of Late Arch. Bishop and Bishop on the Niger, His Grace Most Rev. Jonathan A. Onyemelukwe throughout their episcopacy.  A recipient of the Diocesan Merit Award and a synod delegate for more than two decades, where you performed creditably as the chairman of  Resolution and Communique committee. ‘Patie Nwa Onwuatu’, as you used to call yourself, spent all her time and resources serving God and humanity.
You were so humerous. I will miss all your ribs-cracking jokes. I will really miss so many other things, I wouldn’t mention, but I took my solace in Psalm 116 verse 15 which says “Precious in the sight of God is the death of his saint”.
I bid you farewell with this song:
“Asleep in Jesus
Blessed sleep
From which none ever wakes to weep
A Calm and undisturbed repose
Unbroken by the last of foes”
Adieu Auntie Pesh!

Tribute from MR. CHUKWUDI EGBUNA

Aunty P,
I’m really short of words why death dealt us a big blow. We lost you when we really need you especially my family CHINELO, KAMSY, MUNA, CHIMDALU & CHIDERA who loves you so much. They needed to learn from you how you sing so lovely, how you cook without complain.
I remember whenever I see you, I always want to eat “CAKE IN THE PUDDING”. It was YOU that prepared the first pudding that I ate and I keep telling my wife that she has to learn how to make it. I always remember your request whenever I get back from my oversea trips. You always ask me for your perfume. You were very elegant, a disciplinarian, a wonderful cook with the loveliest voice I have ever heard.
LIFE! So lovely, so strange but cruel. It’s a stage where we play our parts and take a bow whenever its time.
My wife & first daughter were shocked when I told them you were gone. They couldn’t believe it but really you had gone to rest in the bosom of the lord almighty.

Aunty P, we love you but God loves you most.
NODU NMA AUNTY P BUT BEAR IN MIND THAT WE WILL REALLY MISS YOU.

CHUKWUDI, CHINELO, KAMSY, MUNA, CHIMDALU & CHIDERA EGBUNA

A BELOVED SISTER-IN-CHRIST

Patie, this is Unbelievable. I visited and we discussed at length and you were just your usual self. There was nothing to suggest otherwise. I promised to come within the next one week and that was it. The next thing I heard was the sad news! What really happened? Nne how do we start writing about Patie so that those who didn’t know her at All Saints Cathedral will understand? Was it Patie the super leader of the famous Group 3 women? I was privileged to be a member of that super group. And wow she made a group to be proud of. That group was always first and she gingered everybody to fall in line! What a Leader!

Was it her involvement in Choir activities? Patie would sing her heart out and compel anybody around to appreciate music. She was ever so ready to do God’s work. She served as secretary in various church organizations like Parochial Church committee, All Saints Cathedral Synod Secretary etc. Infact Patie was a role model. A lady of many parts, very hardworking, A seasoned teacher and a super cook. How could anybody visit Patie without her rushing into the kitchen to prepare something delicious?  Still it is well, although it is sad to say Goodbye to a loving wife to her late husband, Annie and a doting mother to Olisa, Ifeanyi, Chuka, Chike and the baby Uchenna. And to your numerous friends, I say Take Heart.

We have really lost somebody. Still we bear it because we know that you have gone to a better place for well-deserved rest.

Nne Jee Ofuma,|
Adieu our Beloved Friend!
Adieu a dogged worker in God’s Vineyard
